Immigration.....

So we got up early this morning because we had to be at the lawyers office by 9am. Once we arrived there we met the Holt family. The wife is a lawyer but its a family business. And it was so nice, we met so many other need greaters who are applying for residency. SO after going to the lawyers we headed over to the immigration office, so we got there at 10 am and sat down. We sat there, and sat there and sat there. We waited for our papers to get filed which in Dominican time means never!!! LOL At 2:30pm we were told that the medical that we were supposed to have was (as of today) moved to another building ....20 minutes away!! So we go to the medical office and have to wait in another line for our physical and our x-ray. This took till 4:30pm!! Did I mention that its 33 degrees here and none of these offices have air conditioning!! I was sweating like crazy!! This is a picture of all the people in the Immigration Office! If you notice there are no signs telling you where to go - so basically you have to guess which line to go into and when you get to the counter you are told wrong place! All I can say is that Gray and I were so happy to have our lawyer there, they told us what to do. Now that this day is over we take a deep breath and conquer the next challenge...our new Dominican home!
