We experienced what paradise will be like!!!

Today was a most wonderful day! We drove to Barahona (a large city about 45 minutes away from Duverge) to pick up a few things. We needed to go to the hardware store and the market for some veggie's.

After we picked up everything, we began to drive up the coast to la playa (the beach).

The drive was beautiful, this coast line is untouched by tourism! So it has maintained it's natural beauty.

The drive is exactly how it looks, the road follows the ocean and you can see how close we were while in the car. Imagine what types of homes we would see maybe in the United States if it was this close to the ocean....not such a modest cottege????

Chris and Lisa took us to one of there favorite spots its called Villa Miriam.  Its a privately owned home which you can see here in the picture but the owners allow people to come into the property for a small fee....$2.50......The owners are from Lebanon.

this was what we saw!!!!

Can you even believe how beautiful this place is!

The pictures really don't give this location the justice it deserves. The mountain has a huge water fall coming down and it ends in these small pools and small little waterfalls where you can swim or just sit and relax.

When we arrived at this amazing place there were others there as well. A group of 6. As we were just hanging out we were watching them and they seemed really nice, and quiet and respectful. Lisa said " I wonder if they might be Jehovah's Witnesses?".......About a minute later we found out...They are Jehovah's Witnesses!!!

It was awesome, we hugged and laughed and couldn't believe it. One couple was from Montreal Quebec, they have been in Dominican for 4 months. They are in the Creol congregation about 1.5  hours away from Duverge. Another couple is from France, they two are serving in the Creol congregation. Here we are in this beautiful spot, with our brothers, it was like real life paradise!!!!

After our most wonderful time here we went to the beach.

We could really get used to living here!

We stayed there for a little while and then headed home. We stopped for dinner back in Barahona and dropped by to say one last goodbye to the CO and his wife.

We really enjoyed meeting them and getting to know them. They have a really nice apartment and showed us how to make tortilla's homemade!

They related experiences about the city that they are in and Gray and I are very happy that Lisa and Chris live in Duverge.

Barahona is a very dangerous city, the CO's apartment has bars on both sides of the windows to keep thieves from breaking in.

We felt very uncomfortable being in Barahona as it got dark but at least we were in the safety of the car.

Duverge, although hot and far from most other places is relatively safer then most places, as most know who we are and that we are there to talk and preach about the bible. So its a huge protection to always identify yourself as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. People here, even the thieves respect what foreigners come here to do so they will usually leave Jehovah's Witnesses alone, but time and unforeseen occurrences do exist.

Today was such a wonderful relaxing day that was made perfect with the meeting of new friends in unexpected places and visiting others that sacrifice so much to help others.  This day will be forever in our memories!!!
