Here is what we saw when we arrived, by the
end of the day they had put the beams in for the roof and they were getting ready for the trusses.
It was really looking good in the community, everyone walks by and is in awe at the work that is being done.
Gray spent most of the day working with the cement again. Hauling buckets of cement up a ladder and handing it to the brothers.
Here he is with another brother from our congregation.
It was really hot and very hard work. When we are all in the new system and building houses I want a crew of brothers from the Dominican on my team!!
What they can accomplish in one day despite the heat and hard labor is amazing. Only with the spirit of Jehovah, can all of this be accomplished.
So we had another great meal at the construction site, and we met some new friends. Its so cool that we don't really know much Spanish yet the brothers are so friendly and make us feel so welcome.
We met a couple that had driven 3 hours to help out the construction of the Kingdom Hall. They are staying with a local family for a few days while they stay.
The pictures really don't describe everything, but hopefully it gives you a glimpse of how things are done here.
I had the same job this week, cleaning the cement molds and then putting a mixture of gasoline and oil on the forms. I guess this prevents rust and keeps them in good working order. Its a smelly and very messy job, but we had fun!
This tent is the paint, electrical, cement, and tool department....oh and the beverage center!!
I think they are collecting rocks from this area and using them to fill a hole on the construction site.
They did this for many hours...collecting rocks....
The two sisters walking in the front were working in the kitchen. Every few hours they brought out this amazing juice. I can't remember the name but it was very refreshing and gave you a boost of energy.
Everyone must love it, cause it doesn't last long before they are going back to make more.
We arrived home, safe and very tired after a long yet satisfying day at the Kingdom Hall construction. The next few Fridays we can not go to Los Rios, so hopefully we will be able to go at the beginning of June. We would love to see it all finished!
