It finally arrived!!!

Our washing machine was finally delivered! It came yesterday at 8:30 am. We were so excited. There was two brothers from San Cristobal that delivered it so we had breakfast together before they left. We enjoyed meeting them and I think we will see them at our district convention (if we understood their Spanish).

So just as we were finishing breakfast around 9am....the electricity went off!!!!! Which means I had a brand new washing machine that I couldn't even use....how ironic?!

The electricity goes off here and there, so we thought that maybe it would come back on around lunch time...so we went and did some errands. When we got back the lights were still out......and stayed out until 3:45pm! So as soon as they came on I put a load of laundry in, good thing that I did cause at 4:30pm the lights went out again until 7pm!!!

All we could do was laugh, our first day that we could do laundry and the electricity was out for the whole day!

This is our new automatic washing machine...

It is awesome! I have never been so happy to do laundry in all my life!

It looks small but it actually holds a lot of clothes. And its digital, so it measures the size of the load and knows how much water to use.
Our laundry room is also one of the rooms in our house with the best water pressure. Which is great news for when the machine is filling up.

The brothers said that this is the model the circuit overseers receive now. So if its good enough for Bethel its perfect for us!

So we thought we would take a few pictures of our house.
We really like the house that Chris and Lisa found for us. We are really comfortable and feel like its our home.
This is our kitchen. We cook with propane because if we didnt we might starve. The electricity can go off at anytime, so at least you can always cook and eat.

We have a huge refrigerator. Jehovah has really blessed us, because if you rent a place here you usually have to buy the stove and fridge. And they are just as expensive here as they are in Canada. So this home came with the appliances, so we are super happy about that.

Its to hard to explain but this kitchen is very nice, it is completely ceramic tiled from floor to ceiling and on the counter. Most places have only concrete counters, some of the nicer kitchens also will have a stone counter top. But usually the local people only have concrete.

This is our dining room and living room combined. We are borrowing a table from a friend in the congregation and have 3 plastic chairs. So we can sit and watch a movie or have our dinner here or study. Its really the only piece of furniture we have so we use it for everything.
We used the box that the washing machine came in for the TV and thats our brand new fan!

Next is our bedroom. And Jehovah really blessed us because the owner of the home purchased the bedroom furniture brand new for us.

We have all that we need, but I might pick up a few things when we go to the capital. They have an Ikea in Santo Domingo and I can always find a few things that we could use.

Well thats the tour of our home. We do have an extra room and an extra bed and an extra bathroom, so we welcome any visitors!

We are having such a great time, sometimes we can't even believe that we are here and that this is where we are living right now. Chris and Lisa come back in a few weeks and we are really excited for that too. The time has just been flying by, a month ago today we left Canada.
We hope you are all doing well, and that Jehovah is blessing all of your activities. We will talk soon.
