"Please don't Go"

So today was our last meeting with the congregation here in Duverge.

After the meeting the brothers one by one kept saying to us "Please don't Go", it was really hard to hear them say these things to us, because we truthfully don't want to leave!

I never thought that we would get so attached in such a short time. The brothers here are so genuine and kind it really was hard to say good-bye!

Even though we sometimes struggled with communicating our true feelings to them, we made sure we made up for it with lots of hugs and smiles we wanted the brothers to know how much we loved them.

I know that they aren't aware of the impact they have had on us. They have opened our eyes to so many things and taught us so much over these past few weeks. I think that Gray and I only now understand what people were talking about when they came to other countries to pioneer. We are deeply grateful that Jehovah has helped us come to Duverge.

We have had so much fun while we have been here and that is because Chris and Lisa took such good care of us. They made our stay so comfortable and we really felt like we belonged here and this was our home.

a THANK YOU to Chris and Lisa just doesn't seem enough to explain what they have done for us while we have been here.
They really opened up there schedule to us and gave us a real taste of what life is like here, and how many might think that they are sacrificing much, we have seen that whatever they have lived without Jehovah has given them 'a hundred fold'
It took us 9 years to come and visit Chris and Lisa, despite there repeated invites, and parts of us wish we hadn't waited so long to come and visit.
Its hard to really express how much this experience has helped us, not to mention what special pioneers do around the world. Their example has allowed us to see how great our organization is but also that its made up of great people.

Gray and I hope that we will soon be able to come down again and join our friends here in their assignment. We have seen first hand what joy can be experienced when you move to where the need is great!!

The next two days we are traveling to the capital - Santo Domingo - and will hopefully be able to blog about what we see. But if we can't and this is our last entry, then we shall see you all soon back in Canada.
