Rude Awakenings!

This morning Gray and I were awakened by a local sound car. A sound car drives around the city announcing things, this morning at 7am someone thought it important enough to announce that today was Valentines day! It was a great introduction to life here. the sound car made its rounds a few times during the day, which we found much more humor in.

So today was a get ready for the week day. Lisa showed me how to wash and clean all the fruits and vegetables. we are so fortunate at home, we dont need to worry when we buy something its safe. but here it takes all morning to disinfect the food we eat. Afterwards we did laundry and Gray even helped me hang it outside(Lisa has a very modern convenience of a washing machine - most use a very old fashioned tub- but she uses the great outdoors as a dryer) and then we prepared for the meeting, tonight is the C.O visit.




Gray was also able to find something to do......he has asked Lisa to keep him busy by fixing things around their apartment. he started with the toilet.....

I think the highlight of my day today was having a siesta! its crazy how much the heat makes you tired. To my delight Lisa says that we have a siesta everyday!!! usually after lunch because that is the big meal here. its almost time to go to our first meeting here in Duverge, we are really excited.
